Gamay Grenache 2024
Raspberry, boysenberry, and spice. Bright and juicy with refreshing acidity. This expressive blend is all about vibrant fruit and easy enjoyment. Grenache brings plush red berries and a hint of spice, while Gamay adds floral notes, a fine texture, and a mineral edge to the blend.
The two varieties were made separately. Grenache was destemmed for purity, and Gamay was partly whole-bunch to build perfume and texture, then aged in old oak to keep things fresh and lively. Expect a mouthful of juicy raspberry and boysenberry, layered with spice and a gentle earthiness. Light, playful, and full of flavour, it’s just as good slightly chilled as it is straight from the rack.
Description / Technical notes
- Vineyard Blocks: field blend from across the estate
- Maturation: seasoned French puncheons 7 months
“This red wine has some energy. I guess you’d call it red cherried but there are blueberry, bubble gum, musk and fragrant garden herb notes at play too. It’s fun, it’s light-ish, it’s well-made and it’s just the ticket for casual drinking.”
